Knowing this, and reacting in a completely rational and loving way, my parents and wife have always made sure I've had no fewer than 2 cats in my home at any given time.My primary reaction to cats is itchy eyes. I have used a variety of OTC meds in the past to combat this, but almost all eyedrops are ineffective for treating it (largely because they're not designed for this - most simply contain lubricants and vasoconstrictors for reducing redness) and most antihistamines invariably make me sleepy (as most effective antihistamines will). In short, there's not been a satisfactory OTC solution until now. I tried Visine A probably a year ago and was blown away at how effective it was. If you're thinking that being blown away by the effectiveness of an antihistamine eye drop is an exaggeration, you haven't suffered enough. :) I seriously could not believe that something could work so well.
